After graduating from Skidmore College with a degree in the Fine Arts, Ashlee moved to Boston and started working in the Publishing Industry while painting part time. Today she is making the shift to full time painter- part time editor and designer- who lives and works out of her studio in Lowell.
Her work centers mostly on the figurative, finding fulfillment in drawing and painting the human form. Much like photographers try to frame the enormity of space and time on a two dimensional surface, Ashlee tries to capture the "moments between moments" by taking photographs, studying the personality of her subjects, and rebuilding the character of the person or place within the two-dimensional framework. Her pieces are usually very colorful and expressionistic, and become characters in and of themselves.
She welcomes commissioned work, so please feel free to contact her.
