Connie Makris

Connie is the author of several children's books including:

KING ALLI, based on a true and whimsical adventure of a boy, (Connie's son) and his pet alligator.

NICOLE'S PINK AND PURPLE BIRTHDAY DREAM, based partly on actual events in Nicole's life. Her dream was created from both authors' imaginations embracing Nicole's favorite colors-- pink and purple. However, Nicole's real birthday party did in fact happen and an actress impersonating the Russion princess, Anastasia, performed at her party.

Connie Makris is also a lyricist. She has been writing lyrics and producing original songs since 1975, having 150 songs to her credit. Some of her songs have been performed on live TV on Channel 5's "Sunday Open House" and on Lowell Cable's talent show "Take 6", and they received air play on WLLH-AM radio.

Her musical LIFE IS SO BIG!, depicting the early years of Jack Kerouac, premiered at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell in September 1986. Selected songs from this Kerouac Musical were presented live at the Smith Baker Concert Hall in Lowell and broadcast on the university radio station WJUL in October 1986. She has produced concerts featuring her original songs at Noerthen Essex Community College and the Middlesex Women's Club.

If you would like to stage your own production of LIFE IS SO BIG! and CAMEOS, she can make the script and music available at a reasonable fee. Out pre-recorded, fully orchestrated, copyrighted music is on cued cassette tape. If you prefer to use musicians, lead sheets of the orchestration are available. A basic version of the entire score using a single live piano, suitable for rehearsals and/or final performance, is also available.
