Laurae Richards is a wife and mother of three.  She started going to Haiti in 2000, and fell in love with the country and people there.  She started painting from her experiences in Haiti and her art captures her love and passion for the people.  The paintings evoked strong emotion in people, especially those who have been to Haiti.  Her art has also provided opportunity for people to hear about Haiti and sponsorship programs.  These sponsorship programs provide an opportunity for children in Haiti to be fed and educated.  Laurae has led a number of trips from her church, aiding in the construction of a school and church.  Half of all her proceeds from sales go back into Haiti, by aiding in sponsorship and helping pay for continued trips were she can serve the Haitian people.
 
Laurae Richards has taken lessons in art over her lifetime.  In the later years after finishing a business degree at Gordon College, Wenham MA she went on to study art at Rivier College Nashua, NH and the Museum of Fine Arts School, Boston MA.  It has only been over the last two years that her art has incorporated images of people.  She has won a number of first place awards and has been commissioned to do art work for a collector's coin as well as a number of other pieces.  She has appeared in solo shows as well as group exhibits.
 
Laurae Richards resides in Westford, where she also teaches kindergarten Art.
